Knee Pain

Pain located at the knee may be secondary to a tendon, ligament, cartilage, or bony injury. Frequently seen after traumatic or sports injuries, repetitive trauma or friction or overuse. The pain may range from dull to pinpoint and specific pain depending on the site and origin of the symptoms. Often seen with swelling and instability of the knee joint.

Symptoms

  • Pain at the knee with ambulation and movement of the knee joint.
  • Inflammation and swelling at the knee.
  • Buckling or instability of the knee.
