Osgood Schlatter’s Disease

This is an overuse injury that typically occurs in active or athletic growing adolescents from frequent or excessive running and jumping. This causes inflammation and irritation at the lower part of the knee and upper part of the shin bone. Frequently seen in basketball, soccer, tennis, and football athletes.

Symptoms

  • Front or anterior knee pain, swelling, and tenderness.
  • Worsening pain after running or jumping.
