Heel Pain

Painful site located at the heel bone (calcaneus) that may be caused by a tendon problem, ligament problem, or soft tissue problems such as a bursitis. Heel spurs may also originate or contribute to pain.

Symptoms

  • Tenderness to palpation at the size of the heel, posterior or inferior portion of the heel, or I painful heel with ambulation.
  • Occasional swelling of the heel.
  • Burning sensation at the heel or sole of the foot.
